moments full of gratitude & wonder

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

I’ve always loved photography, but I refrained from ever deeming it anything more than just a hobby for myself. I wanted to protect the joy I find in it. And to be quite honest, considering how everyone around the world is busy capturing moments, I didn’t feel the confidence to call myself a “photographer.” That felt way too official and way out of my league as a girl who just loves taking photos. But as much as I’ve wanted to make it a side note in my life, it truly is a part of my core - So here I am making it a little more of a tangible passion of mine.

Even as an unofficial photographer (no blue checkmark or thousands of followers here), I tend to become a little obsessive at times with getting what I deem as “the shot” (ask anyone who has traveled with me as they can attest to me getting way too lost in a moment.) I lose complete sense of how long I’m in one spot trying to capture one specific moment or it can run the complete opposite when I’m so overwhelmed with the beauty of a place that I become frantic trying to adequately capture the overload of wonder that I’m experiencing. As silly as it may sound, it’s stressful at times! But nothing compares to the butterflies and excitement I feel in soaking in a spectacular moment that is then doubled when I get to pull out my camera (& maybe also slightly dampered when I fail to bring my camera along.)

I’m so thankful for the people who have encouraged me near and far, for making me really lean into the comfort I find in my passion. For the people whose kind compliments are in my “for when you doubt yourself” folder that don’t even know the impact their encouragement had.

I am sincerely grateful.

It’s mind boggling that despite any fancy camera equipment you can acquire or how well you have an eye for framing and shooting a shot, it is all just a chase to capture the immense beauty that is found in this world. It is an expression of trying to share with others the time and place that took your breath away.

SubhanAllah.

Although, nothing can ever truly capture the essence of what that moment brings you. There is only the hope of getting close enough to what it brought you by trying to share it with others

through your lens.

So here is my attempt to share with you some of my moments full of gratitude and wonder.
